Airora vs Filters
Based on research by the Government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), the reduction in active airborne germs that Airora's technology can achieve in minutes, is 1000+ times more effective than that which in-room air filters can typically achieve in hours.
That might seem surprising given that filters often claim reductions of 99.95% or even greater. However, such claims are for the removal of germs between the input and output of the device, not from their removal throughout the room.
Why the huge difference between SAGE's conclusions and the claims of filter manufacturers?
The reasons are complex, but basically, as the air in a room is constantly changing, and as by no means all of the air in the room at any one time will have passed through the filter, the efficiency of the filter itself has little bearing on the ability of a filter device to clean all of the air throughout a room.
As Airora cleanses the air insitu, it has none of the constraints that filters suffer from.

How hydroxyl radicals work

​​Hydroxyls are created in the atmosphere both as part of the continual breakdown of aromatic plant oils secreted into the air by plants everywhere and, during daylight hours,  by the photochemical reaction which occurs in the atmosphere where different wavelengths of light interact with water and other chemicals.
​Hydroxyls are small, highly reactive molecules that rapidly react with and neutralise viruses, bacteria, pollens, and other airborne or surface-borne pathogens and toxins.
Hydroxyls render bacteria and viruses completely harmless and unable to infect humans and animals by reacting with the lipids and proteins in their thin, delicate cell membranes, causing lysing (breakdown). ​
Hydroxyls are incredibly reactive, and as the Airora process produces a never-ending supply, even clumps of cells, thick layers and heavy cell walls (such as TB and spores) eventually succumb. 
Hydroxyls inactivate all bacteria, viruses and moulds on contact, rendering them completely harmless and unable to infect humans and animals.
