  • For every 1,000 people in their mid-seventies or older who were infected with the COVID-19 virus, approximately one in nine died. (1,2)
  • In Australia, of those who died from Covid-19 before May 2022, 32% were in residential care homes. (3)
  • About six million people aged over 65 in England are at high risk of lung damage and asthma attacks as a result of indoor air pollution. (4)
  • Even before Covid, the EU death rate from respiratory diseases for people aged 65 and over was 38 times higher than those under 65! (5)
  • An increase of just 0.9 parts per million of carbon monoxide air pollution causes a significant increase in cardiovascular hospital admissions in the elderly. (6)

Protecting the ones you love

Covid-19 has been devastating for the care sector around the world. Protecting elderly residents and staff from air and surface borne bacteria and viruses, including any new threats as they develop, has become an ever more critical priority.
Picture
Most people spend approximately 90% of their time indoors. The elderly spend even more.

While residents and staff in nursing and care homes enjoy sharing in each other’s company, stories, and celebrations, they also share the same indoor air. As the elderly and infirm often have underlying conditions or weakened immune systems, the indoor air quality in care and nursing homes is crucial.

Common rooms, like TV or games rooms, are great places for residents to socialise. However, that close mixing of people heightens risks arising from the person to person exchange of harmful bacteria and viruses.

Unfortunately, until recently care home facilities have had limited options to improve their defences against poor quality air and the spread of disease. While the application of in-room air filters was initially considered promising, the UK's SAGE committee quickly concluded that any real world improvement they offered would only be a very, very small fraction of that claimed for the filter itself, while, at the same time, drawbacks, such as increased noise, would be of concern.

Then along came Airora.  Airora is NOT an air filter, Airoa is a hydroxyl diffuser which is 1,000+ times more effective than improved ventilation or any type of filter.

Airora works by molecular diffusion, independently of air movement, creating a 24/7 real time person to person infection barrier and within minutes, not hours, destroys all types of airborne pathogen throughout a room.

And that's not all, Airora simultaneously destroys all types of harmful pathogen from all surfaces, neutralises allergens and removes gaseous pollution, irritants and odours!

Nothing else comes close!
